'Fashion Illustration' is a classroom project that explores hair as a medium of expression through fashion illustration and storytelling. Hair as a subject, is so personal to every individual and yet it is so terribly public, it has a symbolized rebellion and resistance from social norms and has been viewed as a symbol of strength and holiness. Hair is used as the material while illustrating silhouettes for garments. This has resulted in fresh new ideas, interesting silhouettes and unexplored textures into the collection.
The illustrations are suggestive of material and silhouettes & expressions for a storytelling. The ensemble each progresses to narrate a story about a maiden who saves her village & conquers the land of hair. Each piece is an expression of the story that is open to interpretation.
